Position Overview: 


We’re seeking a highly-driven, dynamic, motivated Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team Gainesville, GA.  


Under the direction of our Controller, the Cost Accountant is responsible for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.  The cost accountant must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management. The successful candidate will be expected to also lead initiatives to continuously improve reporting processes and results. This role will require the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within our dynamic organization.

  • Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor. 
  • Analyzing data collected and recording results 
  • Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs 
  • Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures 
  • Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports. 
  • Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. 
  • Maintaining Cost Accounting System. 
  • Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger 
  • Conducts physical inventories
  • Assist in special projects and other issues as they arise. 
  • Other skills and duties as assigned. 


Skills and Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, CPA - Ideally Current, Active. 
  • Master’s Degree viewed very favorably. 
  • Expert Excel, Access, MS Word and PowerPoint Skills. 
  • Minimum of 2 solid years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment 
  • Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.  
  • Computer Literate – Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word. 
  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrable ability to influence others at all levels of an organization.  
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines and achieve results, while maintaining high quality 
  • Excellent analytical, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills.
