Specific duties include safety training, compliance audits, leading employee committees, managing improvement projects, waste management and record keeping. The ultimate goal is driving EHS excellence in all areas. Keys to success in this position are demonstrated success driving EHS improvements, tackling and implementing EHS projects and initiatives; and a progressive leadership style to manage, coach and mentor a small EHS staff. The ideal candidate is a hands on EHS leader with strengths in collaborating and gaining buy-in with multiple levels of management and employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with proven ability to manage a complex workload. This position will be overseeing our two locations in Holmdel and Ridgefield, New Jersey. 

Environmental/Safety Responsibilities and Expectations
• Manages site's Title V Air Permitting and compliance, wastewater permits, stormwater permits, RCRA and remediation programs. • Reviews Safety and Work practices at plant level and conduct Incident Investigations with GMs and other facility personnel. • Monitors and ensures compliance with facility environmental permits and acts as a primary liaison with government inspectors. • Conducts routine site review with leadership team to define site-specific EHS goals and monitor progress. • Facilitates/Leads joint employee-management EHS committees. • Develops and leads site specific EHS improvement initiatives such as waste reduction, injury avoidance and improved employee involvement. • Provides prompt and complete communications with corporate EHS personnel regarding incidents and spills as required by corporate requirements. • Conducts and accurately document routine EHS (including security) audits and inspections. • Develop, implement and manage appropriate emergency response programs including ensuring proper training was conducted and drills completed. • Manages the collection, storage, transportation and shipping of hazardous waste. • Facilitates the return to work of injured workers and manages Workers Compensation claims. • Drive and implement a total Safety Culture using behavior based methodologies. Process Safety Management • Develop and manage projects related to PSM. • Prepare and maintain the management systems required to maintain compliance. • Prepare activity reports to keep the PSM and EHS team members informed. Training • OSHA/EPA and other mandatory local, state and federal topics. • Develop and promote programs to educate first level Supervisors and Managers to effectively instruct employees. Security • Manage contracted services and support corporate guidelines. • Perform audits, reporting and investigations. • Manage and coordinate all programs for compliance with PSM and RMP standards. Minimum Education And Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering) • Certified Safety Professional or other EHS related certifications a plus • 5-7+ years' experience managing or supervising EHS in a manufacturing environment with evidence of continual improvement success • Experience in Title V Air Permitting and compliance, wastewater permits, stormwater permits, RCRA and remediation programs a plus • Functional strength in safety management and at least a working knowledge of environmental regulations and the regulatory process • Demonstrated success as a hands on leader/manager with a sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects under pressure • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and deliver a variety of training topics • Must be able to work on an on-call basis (24/7 facility) • Ability to drive organizational change • Other tasks as required. Additional Requirements • Detailed knowledge and understanding of federal, state/provincial and local HESS regulations is required. • Experience with hazardous chemicals is desired. • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plans (RMP) or E2 is desired. • Experience in the consumer products industry is a plus.
