The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a seasonal Youth Program Aide for the Spartanburg location.

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in facilitating and monitoring recreational activities of the Community Center: assists in maintaining the Center facilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the standard rules and techniques of athletic sports such as baseball, basketball and football. Ability to build effective and positive relationships with people of all ages. Ability to lead and motivate people participating in recreational activities. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a normal indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School diploma or G.E.D six months experience coaching and supervising youth events or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Drivers license (Approved Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Report required) Must be 21 years of age to drive.
Approved background check report required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Up to 19 hours per week Mondays through Thursdays with varying shifts between 1:30pm-6:30pm.
