The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Lawn Maintenance Staff for The Salvation Army Headquarters, located in Tulsa, OK.
There are two Full-time with benefits open positions...
Performs a variety of grounds keeping work in order to maintain the health and beautification of grounds surrounding Salvation Army buildings; mows and edges grass, trims trees/shrubs, blows leaves and debris from sidewalks.
Special Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Maintains grounds and areas surrounding the Area Command buildings (B&GCs, Center of Hope, etc.)
Mows grass and edges lawns, sidewalks, and curbs. Cleans gutters of buildings.
Rakes, vacuums, and blows leaves and debris from sidewalks and parking lots.
Cuts down trees; trims trees and bushes.
Ensures proper maintenance of grounds keeping equipment; lubricates mowers and tractor fittings; installs tractor tires as needed.
Assists in performing general building and equipment maintenance work.
Assists in Christmas projects, such as the pick up and delivery of toys; assist in setting up and breaking down the Joy Center.
Education and Experience Required:
HS diploma or GED AND six months experience performing grounds keeping work OR any equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid State Driver License
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Heavy work (as defined by the ADA): Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work is performed outdoors with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
