Marketing Associate

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for an Marketing Associate, for the MS Gulf Coast Area Command, located in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Job Summary: Provides support to the supervisor by assisting in the implementation and execution of the marketing plan for The Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast Area Command (MSGCAC) and Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (RJKCCC); maintains regular updates to all Web content; serves as a secondary point of contact to all advertising contacts; and works with other staff on marketing projects as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Knowledge of the English language including proper grammar and punctuation. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Ability to prepare effective printed materials for educational and promotional purposes. Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army. Ability to cover special events that results in newsworthy articles, photographs and social media posts. Ability to organize and follow plans for special events.
 

Education and Experience: Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in marketing or a related field combined, and one to two years of experience working in the business marketing field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
 

Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver’s License and eligible driver status under TSA Driver Program.
 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to follow instructions, plan and organize work, and work under limited supervision. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines.

Works is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
 

Additional Information: Part-time (27.5 hours per week.).
