Summary
Assist with the supervision of pool operation, aquatic programs, special events, and lifeguards at designated aquatic facility. Assists Pool Manager with daily operation. Assist with the opening and closing of the pool. Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays. This is a seasonal position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists Pool Manager in planning, training, and evaluating lifeguards
- Implements staff schedules, lifeguard rotation schedule and daily assignments.
- Monitors activities, provide instructions and prevent accidents in the aquatic’s facilities
- Assist Pool Manager in monitoring all pool programming.
- Ensures lifeguards observe swimmers, inspect equipment, and pool area is properly maintained/cleaned
- Administer pump room procedures including chemical readings, balancing and filtration
- Inspects facility regularly and reports any unsafe conditions/equipment to supervisor immediately
- Assists in front desk operation and transactions
- Assists with special recreational activities such as athletic events, instructional programs, special projects
- Maintains financial and operating records and reports
- Ensures City financial policies, procedures, and safety guidelines followed
- Drives between designated aquatics facilities
- Administers first aid or CPR according to prescribed procedures and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary
- Monitors, applies safety guidelines and proper rescue techniques to patrons in the aquatic facility.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience as a lifeguard
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an Assistant Manager
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding
- American Red Cross First Aid, AED, & CPR for professional rescuers
- Valid driver’s license
