DISEASE INVESTIGATOR
FULL-TIME, LIMITED TERM EMPLOYEE
The Kenosha County Division of Health is looking for limited-term, self-directed, nurturing, and adaptable individuals to work with our current nursing team on COVID-19 positive case work. The positive case work handles complex tasks involving residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. Availability to work 40 hours per week preferred, but will consider availability of a minimum of 20 hours per week. These LTEs will be needed through December or longer, depending on the availability of funding.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Notify client of positive COVID-19 test result and conduct disease investigation which includes education and isolation/quarantine instructions.
- Investigate close household contacts.
- Provide education including level of risk and signs/symptoms to those directly exposed, including referral to community resources as needed.
- Enter detailed and accurate notes/data into a complex electronic data system. Assist with community outreach to schools and businesses alerting them of positive cases and tracking their total case load.

Assist with data entry log tracking all positive and probable cases.

Alert the team when patterns present or politically important cases present.

Perform WEDSS and WIR data clean up in down time.

There is a potential for higher level case assignment work.

Assist in the public health clinics helping with COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.

Assist with offsite mobile missions helping with COVID-19 vaccinations.
Performs other duties are required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - MINIMUM
Education and Experience
- Nursing background – 1-year experience
- Electronic database experience
- Cell phone usage
- Must be familiar with our county
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED
- Second year nursing students; Nursing Degree: LPN, RN or BSN
- Ability to speak Spanish
