The Indiana University Foundation’s (IUF) Prospect Management and Research team is seeking a detail- oriented leader and mentor to serve as Assistant Director, Research!
 

Overseeing a team of prospect researchers, the Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, thoroughness, and quality of all research deliverables. The right candidate for this position is an individual with strong writing and editing skills, and a keen eye for detail. The Assistant Director will also need strong research background, as this individual should be a team player with the willingness to step in and research when workload is at its peak.

Furthermore, strong leadership skills are essential for this position. The Assistant Director should have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.  The Assistant Director will lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management for their team.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of the fundraising process
  • Knowledge of prospect management and research principles and methods
  • Interpersonal skills and judgment suitable for appropriate discretion and demeanor when dealing with all fundraisers, staff, administrators and others
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of confidential information
  • Understanding of computerized data management
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly
  • Must be able to use current word processing, spreadsheet, and database software

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and work experience in a fundraising environment required.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and interpersonal skills required.

The Office of Advancement Services and Capital Campaigns provides a variety of central services to prospects and donors as well as to our internal and external advancement partners. Departments within the division include Prospect Management and Research, Events and Meeting Services, Donor Relations, and Stewardship. Additionally, the office provides support for university campaigns, IQ and Crimson/Reeher.
