Job Title: Residential Counselor, Boulder, CO

Pay rate: $16.48/hour
Status: Hourly non-exempt
$2000 Sign Bonus
 

Purpose of Position- Provides for the health, safety and welfare of the consumers with disabilities in their homes. Implements consumers’ Individual Plans. Monitors and reports on data to ensure compliance with all applicable regulating agencies. Maintains professional relationships with consumers as well as members of treatment teams.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

1.Provides for the health, safety, and welfare of the consumers with disabilities in their homes.

· Attends to consumer health and safety needs according to all assessment and care plans, including medication administration, personal hygiene, and home and community safety.

· Performs cleaning, cooking, and other site maintenance as assigned.

· Ensures the ongoing facilitation of person-centered principals in the home.

· Deals effectively with crisis situations.

2. Implements, monitors, and reports on consumers’ Individual Service and Support Plans as stated in the Individual Plan.

· Completes all documentation and tracking timely and accurately.

· Communicates effectively with consumers, guardians and family members, and all other members of consumers’ treatment team.

3.Monitors and reports on data to ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations, including Imagine! Policies and Procedures.

· Completes all required training, including annual refreshers, in the appropriate timeframe.

· Reports all behavioral incidents, medical emergencies, and/or significant changes in medical condition to Residential Site Supervisor, and completes all related paperwork in a timely manner.

4.Maintains respectful and professional relationships with consumers, staff, guardians and family members, and all other members of treatment teams.

·Confronts conflict productively, as described in the residential training.

·Utilizes effective time management skills.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

· Strictly complies with household budget protocols and spending limits, including guidelines for consumer personal needs funds.

· Maintains the residential site and consumer personal belongings in good repair, being mindful of safety and cleanliness.

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

General knowledge of developmental disabilities system in Colorado.

Demonstrated skill in working with adults with developmental disabilities, preferably in a residential setting.

Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.

Ability to productively confront conflict.

Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work effectively with various technology including word processing software, internet based databases, assistive technology, etc.

Training/Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

2 years of college preferred.

Ability and willingness to successfully complete required training curriculum. This includes Emergency Control Procedures, Safety Control Procedures, and IBSSP.

Experience:

2 years of experience preferred.

OR some combination of education and experience.

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment.

Willingness and ability to respond to emergency situations as they arise.

Must work regular awake overnight shifts.
