POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This position receives, stores and ships material and products within the warehouse, with accuracy and timeliness. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.  Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.  Goal is to pack 1800lbs shipping weight a day (e.g. 60 packages at 30lbs shipping weight).  Accuracy of orders is extremely important, and items must be checked and verified before shipment.

 

2.  Assemble on site pickup customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department, within 24-48 hours or payment. 

 

3.  Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code.

 

4.  File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area. 

5.  Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.  

 

6.  Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.

 

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Ensure work area is accessible and safe for employees and customer traffic. 

 

2. Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.

 

3. Open bales, crates and other containers.

 

4. Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.

 

5. Assist in counting of physical inventory.

 

6. Weigh and count items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.

 

7. May be assigned work area maintenance duties as needed.

 

8. Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.

 

9. Sweep, dust and mop. Organize work area for orderliness at all times.

 

10. Wear the proper safety equipment.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

1.  Six months of relevant work experience in a retail operations, warehouse, E-Commerce or other customer service-oriented environment, or equivalent acceptable industry training or certifications. 

2.  Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction). 

3.  Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new applications.

4.  Strong organizational skills.

5. Ability to work well with others in a close retail or warehouse environment.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

 

2. Experience with the following warehouse equipment: rolling containers, gaylords, barrels, plastic totes, hand truck, furniture dolly, pallet jack, pallet stacker, forklift, tipper, etc.

 

3. Computer skills with MS Office Programs including MS Excel (or spreadsheet systems), Outlook, MS Word, etc.

 

4. Prior data entry experience.

 

5. Experience with online inventory management and listing programs, e.g. Neatoscan and Indaba or ShopGoodwill, Ebay.

 

6. Experience in material handling.

 

Physical Demands:

 

Medium

 

Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/ carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

 

Heavy

 

Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/ carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

 

Work Environment:

 

Moderate

 

Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.).

 

This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
