Job description


We’re seeking a Telecommunications Specialist. You'll be responsible for developing a bill of materials (BOM) required for telephony equipment. The BOM shall list item description, part number, quantity, unit price and total cost. You will also assist the Telephone Control Officer (TCO) in performing Telecommunications Management, Billing Support Systems, customer support operations, voice/data/video circuit planning, and technical support.


Full Job Description:

• Update and enter additional information and solutions relevant to service requests and tasking’s using site provided enterprise ticketing system and participate in the flow of information by documenting solutions or verbally apprising the IMD leadership.

• Develop a bill of materials (BOM) required for telephony equipment. The BOM shall list item description, part number, quantity, unit price and total cost.

• Assist the Telephone Control Officer (TCO) in performing Telecommunications Management, Billing Support Systems, customer support operations, voice/data/video circuit planning, and technical support.

• Attend government provided TCO training and receive certifications.

• Familiar with telephone circuit types in support of researching work order logs, jack numbers, phone type, room numbers, and user types across the DoD.

• The contractor shall monitor and manage telephonic work orders in approved Government work order tracking system.

• Provide monthly statistics on open, pending, and completed work orders to government lead.

• Identify customer’s telephonic requirements and provide solutions to improve call flow process and access to care.

• Support Automated Call Distribution server administrator with identifying and tracking customer requirements.

• Coordinate and track circuit management through government and commercial telephone service providers.

• Maintain telephone location database in support of security office “E911” tracking system.

• Maintain inventory of telephonic assets and provide procurement documentation to IMD purchasing section for action

• Perform on-call duty on evenings, weekends, and holidays to provide guidance and support to customer support technicians on resolution of program/applications problems and/or failures, and may be required to return to the work site to resolve critical problems


Certifications and Experience:

• Have at least three (3) years of experience with telecommunication systems.

• experience in Government ticketing systems i.e Global Service Center and 502d Remedy systems.

• experience in communicating effectively and efficiently day in and day out with Government customers as it relates to telephone work orders.

• meet the requirements for a IAT Level II position as defined in DOD 8570-01-M.
