Product Team - Product Designer

The role of Product Designer at Aquent involves knowledge and depth of skill in user research, UX design, visual design, and UI and interactive design principles. It calls for the ability to investigate, develop, prototype and test ideas in an effort to create unique and valuable web application experiences.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with our Product, Engineering, and QA teams to facilitate design processes, including synthesizing user research, user testing, and designing and prototyping ideas with rapid feedback loops.
Develop, elect, prototype, and polish compelling design solutions and feature sets that strike the right balance of delight, feasibility, and functionality.
Contribute to design standards and help grow shared pattern libraries.
Champion UX best practices across our platforms and services.
Work in an agile environment, with a willingness to constantly flex and scale your design workflow to meet the needs of the team and the business without sacrificing design quality and reasoning.
Participate in daily standups, planning sessions, and other agile team rituals to promote, demo, and garner consistent feedback on your work (as well as help mitigate risk).
As a Product Designer, you:
Have a passion for user-centered design.
Have a solid understanding of fundamentals and principles in visual and UI design, including space, typography, color, composition, layout, etc., as well as an appreciation for accessibility standards.
Have experience designing for web applications.
Have experience translating business, user, and brand requirements into actionable design tasks and workflows.
Have experience working with pattern libraries and design systems.
Are proficient in Figma (we primarily use Figma, Miro and Google Suite).
Have some familiarity with modern web technologies and an understanding of the fundamentals of frontend development (you won’t write code, but you might speak some).
Are eager to take initiative and ownership, but are primarily team oriented and collaborative in your working style.
Enjoy providing guidance to peers on design principles and best practices.
Are able to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment.
Approach challenges in an optimistic and pragmatic manner.
Have an interest in being part of a community that fosters and encourages continuous learning.
Don’t start with solutions – you arrive at them.
A portfolio that highlights well-designed experiences and articulates processes, decisions, impact, and key learnings in a story format.
3-5 years of experience working on a design team and making meaningful contributions to digital products and/or services.
A willingness to bring a perspective and opinion to creative conversation, while at the same time having the grace and confidence to “think again.”
Excellent spoken and written English.
Comfortable working on a fully distributed team.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer of up to 8hrs per day.
